Byzantine Catholic Archeparchy of Pittsburgh
Explore 75 Catholic parishes, updated schedules, and livestream options across the diocese.
The Byzantine Catholic Archeparchy of Pittsburgh traces its origins to 1924, when the Holy See established it as an Apostolic Exarchate to serve Ruthenian Catholic immigrants who had settled across the United States. Elevated to an archeparchy in 1969, it now serves as the metropolitan see of the Byzantine Ruthenian Catholic Church in America, encompassing roughly 75 parishes across multiple states. Its cathedral, Saint John the Baptist in Munhall, Pennsylvania, anchors a living tradition of Byzantine liturgy and Eastern spirituality that Carpatho-Rusyn immigrants carried from the Carpathian highlands to the New World.
