Website. We collect email addresses when you use features like saving parishes or lighting candles. This information is used solely to provide these services to you.
MCP API. When you use Catholic Index through AI assistants (such as ChatGPT, Claude, or Cursor), we log tool call inputs including search locations, search queries, and church identifiers. These logs do not contain personal information such as names, email addresses, or IP addresses of end users.
Analytics. We use Umami, a self-hosted, cookie-free analytics tool, to understand how visitors use our website. No personal data or tracking cookies are involved.
Session replay. We use PostHog for anonymous usage analytics and session replay (10% of visits, with all form inputs automatically masked). For visitors in the EU and UK, analytics data is stored only for the duration of your visit. For other visitors, a first-party cookie is used to understand return visits.
Email addresses allow us to save your preferences and may be used to send occasional updates about new features. We do not sell or share your personal information with third parties.
MCP API logs are used for product analytics (understanding which tools and locations are most popular), abuse prevention, and rate limiting. Logs are not shared with third parties.
