Explore 153 Catholic parishes, updated schedules, and livestream options across the diocese.
Erected by Pope Pius IX on April 23, 1847, when territory was carved out of the Diocese of New York, the Diocese of Albany covers 14 counties across upstate New York — from the Capital Region west through the Mohawk Valley and north to the Adirondack foothills. Its approximately 152 parishes are served from the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Albany, dedicated in 1852. The diocese also holds the National Shrine of Our Lady of Martyrs in Auriesville, site of the 1646 martyrdom of St. Isaac Jogues and birthplace of St. Kateri Tekakwitha.
