Diocese of Norwich
Explore 75 Catholic parishes, updated schedules, and livestream options across the diocese.
The Diocese of Norwich was established on August 6, 1953, when Pope Pius XII carved it from the Diocese of Hartford to serve eastern and central Connecticut. Covering Middlesex, New London, Tolland, and Windham counties — plus Fishers Island — it spans roughly 75 parishes across a region where Irish railroad workers first built Catholic communities in the 1830s. The Cathedral of Saint Patrick in Norwich, originally built in 1879, became the diocesan cathedral at the diocese's founding.
