Explore 80 Catholic parishes, updated schedules, and livestream options across the diocese.
The Diocese of Owensboro was erected on December 9, 1937, carved out of the Diocese of Louisville to serve western Kentucky. It covers 32 counties across approximately 12,500 square miles and includes around 80 parishes. St. Stephen Cathedral, the seat of the diocese, traces its roots to 1839 as the first Catholic parish in Owensboro, with the current building completed in 1926 in anticipation of its future role as a cathedral.
