Diocese of Superior
Explore 105 Catholic parishes, updated schedules, and livestream options across the diocese.
The Diocese of Superior covers 16 counties across northern Wisconsin, from the shores of Lake Superior down through the lake-studded northwoods. Erected in 1905 by Pope Pius X from portions of the dioceses of La Crosse and Green Bay, it is home to 105 parishes across more than 15,000 square miles of largely rural and forested land. French Jesuit missionaries were active along Chequamegon Bay as early as the 1660s, making this one of the earliest areas of Catholic presence in what is now the United States. The seat of the diocese is the Cathedral of Christ the King in Superior, dedicated in 1927.
