The Eparchy of Saint Maron of Brooklyn was established in 1966 as an apostolic exarchate by Pope Paul VI β the first Maronite jurisdiction in the United States β elevated to a full eparchy in 1971 and relocated to Brooklyn in 1977. It covers 17 eastern states and DC, with its cathedral at Our Lady of Lebanon in Brooklyn. A second Maronite eparchy was split off for the western states in 1994. The eparchy has about 50 parishes.
