Romanian Catholic Eparchy of Saint George's in Canton

Established in 1982 as an Apostolic Exarchate and elevated to an eparchy in 1987, the Romanian Catholic Eparchy of Saint George's in Canton serves Romanian Greek Catholics across the entire United States and Canada from its cathedral in Canton, Ohio. The eparchy follows the Byzantine liturgical tradition while remaining in full communion with Rome — a heritage carried to America by Romanian immigrants in the early twentieth century. With 20 parishes spread nationwide, it is the only Romanian Catholic jurisdiction in North America and reports directly to the Holy See.
